D. Luís bridge is a landmark awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. In 1881 this project was assign to Théophile Seyrig, disciple of Gustave Eiffel. The works began that same year and they were developed until 1887. Eiffel, himself, ended up building the bridge D. Maria, east of D. Luis. With foot crossing and boarding at the Gaia pier, after a visit to a Port wine cellar.
